Walk4Matt, Rugby to Twickenham
18 – 25 May 2013

We are offering 10 places on the Restart team taking part in the 5th annual Walk4Matt in aid of The Matt Hampson Foundation. Join rugby stars, past and present, to complete the 110-mile route along the Grand Union Canal towpath, from Rugby to Twickenham. Your home for the week will be a narrowboat, and you will finish your journey at Twickenham Stadium in time for the Aviva Premiership Final.

To complete our team, we need 7 walkers and 3 crew members (skipper, lock hand and galley slave) who will steer the boat, operate locks and provide food and drink for the walkers during the day. We are assured that crew experience is not necessary! Evening meals and breakfast are provided by the venues that we moor at each night.

You can sign up as a whole team, or as individuals. The minimum fundraising target for crew members is £500 each, and for walkers it is £1,000 each. Proceeds raised by the Restart team will be shared between Restart and The Matt Hampson Foundation, which supports young people seriously injured through sport.

Matt is a former England U21 and Leicester Tigers player who founded his own charity after suffering a serious spinal injury during rugby training. Read more >>
