Lee Audis

Former Bath Academy player, Lee Audis, was left fighting for his life following a horrific road crash in November 2011. Lee, who was playing for Doncaster Knights at the time of his accident, remained in a coma for two months and then faced a long and painful recovery.

A year after the accident, Lee was finally released from specialist care at the brain injury rehabilitation unit at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, and allowed home to his family in November 2012.

Because Lee still had difficulty walking, some renovation work was required to assist with his ongoing rehabilitation, so Restart helped to pay for the installation of a wet room on the ground floor of his home.

Although he still has some problems with hand movements and short term memory, Lee is making remarkable progress and is gaining more independence each day. He has recently started training to become a rugby coach and is looking forward to developing his skills to help train others.
