Tane Tu’ipulotu

Tane Tu’ipulotu

Former Newcastle Falcons centre, Tane Tu’ipulotu, was forced into early retirement in September 2013 following a knee injury. With a young family to support and another baby on the way, Tane was under huge pressure to find alternative employment as soon as possible.

Planning to pursue a coaching career post-rugby, he was already studying for a Level 3 RFU Coaching Certificate. Restart Rugby helped Tane to further build his coaching skills by paying for him to gain a qualification to coach rugby in schools.

We also helped fund a Diploma in Fitness Instruction and Personal Training to give Tane the best possible chance of pursuing his dream to coach and train others.

“The course will really improve my chances of landing a full-time coaching role in the future – particularly in a smaller club setting, where there isn’t always a qualified trainer to monitor health and fitness. I’m so grateful to Restart Rugby for helping me to support my family with a new career that I am so passionate about.”
