Wade does the double at RPA Awards

May 23rd, 2013

London Wasps’ Christian Wade completed a memorable double win at the 15th annual RPA Computacenter Players’ Awards at Battersea Evolution on 22 May.

The Wasps winger became the first player to be crowned both Computacenter Players’ Player of the Year and LV= Young Player of the Year, as voted for by his fellow Aviva Premiership players. Only Jonny Wilkinson has won both awards before and these were in separate years, 1999 and 2003.

Wade, who finished joint top try scorer in the Aviva Premiership alongside Wasps team-mate Tom Varndell, is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in English rugby.

The evening raised £100,000 for Restart, the charity that supports pro players forced to retire through illness or injury.
